Manhattan GMAT Test Simulation Booklet w/ Marker

Manhattan GMAT Test Simulation Booklet w/ Marker Review

This essential preparation tool helps you become comfortable with the laminated scratch paper and marker that you will be given when you take an Official GMAT.

The Test Simulation Booklet consists of five laminated double-sided pages and is virtually identical to the booklet provided at official GMAT testing centers. A non-permanent marker of the same type used for the GMAT is included. You can erase your work using a damp paper towel.

Understanding Molecular Simulation, Second Edition: From Algorithms to Applications (Computational Science)

Understanding Molecular Simulation, Second Edition: From Algorithms to Applications (Computational Science) Review

Understanding Molecular Simulation: From Algorithms to Applications explains the physics behind the "recipes" of molecular simulation for materials science. Computer simulators are continuously confronted with questions concerning the choice of a particular technique for a given application. A wide variety of tools exist, so the choice of technique requires a good understanding of the basic principles. More importantly, such understanding may greatly improve the efficiency of a simulation program. The implementation of simulation methods is illustrated in pseudocodes and their practical use in the case studies used in the text.

Since the first edition only five years ago, the simulation world has changed significantly -- current techniques have matured and new ones have appeared. This new edition deals with these new developments; in particular, there are sections on:

· Transition path sampling and diffusive barrier crossing to simulaterare events
· Dissipative particle dynamic as a course-grained simulation technique
· Novel schemes to compute the long-ranged forces
· Hamiltonian and non-Hamiltonian dynamics in the context constant-temperature and constant-pressure molecular dynamics simulations
· Multiple-time step algorithms as an alternative for constraints
· Defects in solids
· The pruned-enriched Rosenbluth sampling, recoil-growth, and concerted rotations for complex molecules
· Parallel tempering for glassy Hamiltonians

Examples are included that highlight current applications and the codes of case studies are available on the World Wide Web. Several new examples have been added since the first edition to illustrate recent applications. Questions are included in this new edition. No prior knowledge of computer simulation is assumed.

Simulations and the Future of Learning: An Innovative (and Perhaps Revolutionary) Approach to e-Learning

Simulations and the Future of Learning: An Innovative (and Perhaps Revolutionary) Approach to e-Learning Review

Simulations and the Future of Learning offers trainers and educators the information and perspective they need to understand, design, build, and deploy computer simulations for this generation. Looking back on his recent first-hand experience as lead designer for an advanced leadership development simulation, author Clark Aldrich has created a detailed case study of the creation and deployment of an e-learning simulation that had the development cycle of a modern computer game. With this book Aldrich, a leader in the e-learning field, has created an intriguing roadmap for the future of learning while taking us along on an entertaining rollercoaster ride of trial and error, success and failure. Simulations and the Future of Learning outlines the design principles and critical decisions around any simulation's components— the interface, the physics and animation systems, the artificial intelligence, and sets and figures. Using this accessible resource, readers will learn how to create and evaluate successful simulations that have the following characteristics: authentic and relevant scenarios; applied pressure situations that tap user's emotion and force them to act; a sense of unrestricted options; and replayability.

Clinical Simulation

Clinical Simulation Review

Simulation facilities are invaluable for training in medicine and clinical education, biomedical engineering and life sciences. They allow the practice of prevention, containment, treatment, and procedure in a risk-free setting.

This book is a practical guide and reference to the latest technology, operations and opportunities presented by clinical simulation. It shows how to develop and make efficient use of resources, and provides hands-on information to those tasked with setting up and delivering simulation facilities for medical, clinical and related purposes, and the development and delivery of simulation-based education programs.

. A step-by-step manual to developing successful simulation programs
. Shows how to design, construct, outfit and run simulation facilities for clinical education and research.
. The Residency Review Committee of the US Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education has begun requiring residency programs to have simulation as an integral part of their training programs.

Systemic Perspective Vol III Simulation with Insight Maker

Systemic Perspective Vol III Simulation with Insight Maker Review

There are questions which arise during the development of a Systemic Perspective that simply can not be answered with qualitative models. At times only a dynamic quantitative simulation is capable of providing the level of understanding necessary to answer some questions. This section of the Systemic Perspective Series provides an introduction to simulation using Insight Maker.

It is recommended that one read this book with Kindle PC, Mac or iPad as it contains numerous detailed color images that may be difficult to read on a small screen. Also note that the graphic images are linked to Wiki pages or Insight Maker models which will continue to develop over time.

Stochastic Modeling: Analysis and Simulation (Dover Books on Mathematics)

Stochastic Modeling: Analysis and Simulation (Dover Books on Mathematics) Review

A coherent introduction to the techniques for modeling dynamic stochastic systems, this volume also offers a guide to the mathematical, numerical, and simulation tools of systems analysis. Each chapter opens with an illustrative case study, and comprehensive presentations include formulation of models, determination of parameters, analysis, and interpretation of results. 1995 edition.
